No, I am not talking about the cartoon! I am talking about the best place to fish for trophy trout (arguably) in Colorado. It was only a couple of days ago, on the 27th of April we saw the opening day at Spinney Mountain Reservoir for the 2019 season, and today May 1st, the south boat ramp at Antero Reservoir opens up; with the north boat ramp following suite a couple weeks later on May 25th. Last but not least, we saw Eleven Mile Reservoir open up for boating on the 29th of April. So officially, the 2019 South Park season is well underway!

A Gulf Coast Adventure
a twin pair of MH-65 Dolphin US Coast Guard Rescue helicopters lifted off out of Coast Guard Air Station Corpus Christi heading south. They buzzed low over the treacherous sea, their AGL only a couple feet above the rolling waves, their search lights glaring. Their target: an overturned fishing boat somewhere within Laguna Madre, marooned smack in-between Corpus Christi and Port Mansfield.
At first, there was just one. Gracefully and silently ascending through the water column. It was shadowing a school of bait-fish that had wandered too far from shore. Soon, it was joined by more hunters of the marauding party. They were on the move. Game on.

Fly Fishing on the North Fork Cache la Poudre River
As I stood silently behind that tree, preparing to make that fateful cast on that cold and crisp fall day in the Colorado mountains, I couldn’t help but realize that this is what life was all about.
Public Land Conundrum: Part II
All in all, understanding the experiences being offered on public lands; the motivations behind outdoor recreation and leisure tourism; and the desired benefits tourists' and recreationists' are seeking is vital for public land managers and tourism managers alike.
